Brian Lesser

Biography

Brian has spent most of his career in the field of international wholesale businesses, and the last eight  years leading his own business, CIT Electronics. An entrepreneur at heart, Brian’s been developing  ideas and turning those ideas into opportunities for others since he was a young child. From stocking  candy boxes in businesses, to re-selling used golf balls as a teenager, to now building schools in Africa  and funding micro businesses in numerous countries, he’s always loved finding creative ways to make  money and then using those funds to give back to the community.

Brian’s focus has always been on personal improvement and the well being of those he loves and  employs. The chance to help and interact with people around the globe in meaningful ways has  produced numerous pathways towards individual and collective success. His current projects include  funding an education and community center built for 200 special needs students in Ghana, as well as  providing funding and mentoring for micro businesses in DR Congo, Republic of Congo, Tanzania,  Ghana, Mali, as well as several US locations.

Another recent focus has been the individual development of the younger employees of Brian’s company, CIT Electronics. Brian instituted “Genesis Teams” with roughly 25 employees divided into small groups and spent 2 hours in bi-weekly discussion groups focused on self improvement, career development, strength finding, and problem solving. Participants, many of whom have spent over a year in this program, have found these discussion and coaching sessions to be insightful, instructive and restorative. CIT is based in American Fork, UT with a workforce of 65 employees. The site processes 30k-50k  electronics monthly from various US sources. These products are then sold to hundreds of resell  business operators in 40 countries. CIT has generated over $200M in revenue since its inception and is  a market leader in many facets of its business.

Brian’s unique and hands-on approach to philanthropy has inspired his employees and partners to  create dramatic changes in their own lives and communities. He now spends the majority of his time  invested in helping to inspire and fund business leaders and provide education opportunities in the  developing world. African nations have been a primary focus thus far, but opportunities have arisen to  get involved in other parts of the world. Most of the businesses are organized and launched by people in economies that struggle to provide jobs and individuals must create their own path. One young man  graduated from school with a law degree but couldn’t find employment. Brian helped Jean Jacques  Kongo Kongo build a cart renting business that now produces thousands monthly in revenue and  enough income to support his large extended family and a growing base of young “street kids” in the  Democratic Republic of Congo.

Originally from Colorado, Brian is the second oldest of four children to Rick and Karen Lesser. Father  was an electrical engineer and executive at Hewlett Packard, and his mother was a small business  owner and community leader who ran a performing arts academy for 25 years.

Brian met his future wife, Brandony, when she was a teacher at his mother’s performing arts school,  where Brian worked part time during college. Brandony was not a member of the church but came from  a strong Christian family, her Father being a minister and later a chaplain. After several months of  study, Brandony elected to join the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 2003, and Brian and  Brandony were married and sealed in the Denver temple a year later. Together, they are the parents of  three daughters who they are excited to travel with and introduce to new cultures.
